Independent, focused and easy to use
This is an independent WheelMates guide. We are not FIREVOLT, the game's developer, and this site is not an official support service or an official part of the game.
The guide starts with a practical question: what do you and your friend need to do next? The co-op guide separates playing on one PC from playing online and explains the Friend's Pass route. The gadget and exploration guide introduces the developer's named upgrades and the different discoveries around the house. The completion checklist keeps seven published collection and activity goals in your browser. The issue guide separates announced fixes from reports that still lack a confirmed solution.
You can read the setup instructions without using the session planner. The planner is a shortcut to the relevant section; it does not connect to Steam, invite another player or change your game settings.

Developer instructions are the starting point for game facts on this site. These are the main places to check the original wording or look for a newer answer:
- Official Steam store page — the game, supported play modes and the developer's equipment description.
- Official Friend's Pass instructions — the invitation steps and developer answers about joining with different friends.
- The Co-op Company's Friend's Pass tutorial — a short creator-made walkthrough recommended by the developer in the official invitation thread.
- Launch FAQ — launch questions and the developer's dated response about Steam Remote Play.
- Official English press-kit FAQ — the named gadgets, partner requirements and the full-adventure Friend's Pass description.
- Devlog 2: the house's story — nodes, scannable objects, memory cards and the Journal.
- Official gameplay announcement — the developer's link to the gameplay overview hosted by IGN.
- Official Steam achievements — collection goals, named ability achievements and level-completion labels, checked on 8 September.
- Butch13 Gaming and LadyCee0711's paired-lever example — a short action sequence reviewed against frames and timestamped captions from their pre-release full-version footage.
- Official news and hotfixes — release notes and version-specific changes.
- 8 September co-op, progression and performance hotfix — the latest patch reviewed here, including the developer's request for further progression feedback.
- Far Beyond Driven progression discussion — the blocked-lever reports, developer replies and a player's follow-up after the update.
- DualSense issue discussion — the original player report and the developer's response.
- Official WheelMates website — developer links and the public press kit.
A player describing a problem tells us what happened to that player. It does not establish a universal cause or prove that a suggested workaround works. We keep that distinction visible on the issue page and link directly to the discussion.
Community-written guides can also make an unfamiliar action easier to follow. We adapted short practical guidance from WheelMates Wiki's Grapple, Magnet Wheels, Magnetic Grabber and Controls articles. The relevant sections link back to those guides. These attributed practices are separate from our frame-by-frame review of the recorded lever example.
Our Kitchen, Hallway and Garage route notes, puzzle help and controls guide also draw on WheelMates Guide. We reorganize its practical advice around the scene, each player's job and the result to look for. Individual sections distinguish community-reported advice from the video moments we checked. We do not infer a fixed campaign order from achievement percentages or present conflicting keypad instructions as a confirmed code.
For a full reference beyond the personal collection checklist, use our 21-achievement directory, checked against the public Steam list.
Check the date as well as the answer
The first edition's game and issue sources were checked on (UTC). On , we reviewed the invitation steps and recommended video, the new co-op/progression hotfix, and the Far Beyond Driven discussion. The DualSense source check remains 7 September. WheelMates has received launch-period fixes, so an old playtest answer or controller report may describe a different build.
When a page describes a fix, it means the developer announced that fix on the stated date. It does not mean every related symptom has disappeared. These pages explain published instructions; they do not claim first-hand testing of every controller or network setup.
If your game behaves differently, compare both players' versions and visit the linked official thread. Give the developer the actual symptom and your setup instead of treating an unrelated workaround as a confirmed answer.
Game and media credits
WheelMates and its game artwork are credited to FIREVOLT. The developer links a public press kit from the official website. Game artwork shown here is used to illustrate this independent editorial guide; it does not imply developer sponsorship or endorsement.
The selected media are the official key art, three gameplay screenshots and the WheelMates logo. Screenshots illustrate the game's environment; they are not presented as photographs of our own playthrough or as menu-by-menu setup captures.
The two-PC invitation flow is our own editorial diagram of the developer's written steps. Its menu labels help each player follow the route on their own computer.
The linked video is made by The Co-op Company and recommended by the developer. We used samples of its automatically generated English captions to place approximate time links. Those samples help with navigation; written game instructions are checked against the developer's text.
The gameplay overview is an official trailer hosted by IGN and linked in FIREVOLT's announcement. We reviewed the visible automatic captions from approximately 0:30 to 0:57 to add movement explanations and time links. We link to the original video; it is not footage produced by this guide.
The ×2 lever diagram is our own schematic of the action shown by Butch13 Gaming and LadyCee0711. We checked the two attached ropes, synchronized pull and final green indicator in the linked sequence. Their footage is from a pre-release full version; this review does not claim a complete viewing or a current-build playtest.
The newer Kitchen and Garage recordings are by whatthevic. We reviewed the selected moments identified in the route and puzzle guides, not both complete videos. Our lift, crane, controller and keypad illustrations are original schematics. The keypad diagram represents a specific community-reported example, with its unconfirmed success status kept visible.
